House
The house I live in was built in the 1880's and I never thought much about it till today. Started out a stopped up drain from the kitchen sink and ended up a handfull of nails and a couple of mercs and three wheaties. Wife was cooking supper and rinsing off some dishes. The sink wouldn't drain and she started complaining. Well I had to go in there and tear out the bottom part of the sink because it was stopped up past the "pee trap". It was then realized the plumbing under the house was iron pipe... and another "pee trap" under the kitchen sink floor. I cut it out with my sawzaw and used a rubber boot to make 2" pvc fit the drain. Fixed the sink. Well my son, Zack, was helping me and he took the iron "pee trap" outside and called me. When carrying it in the bucket it must have jarred around and there was a bunch of old nails and goo in the bottom. After rinsing, we found the corroded dimes and wheaties. I have no idea when this house was modernized with plumbing, butit goes to show that stuff can be anywhere. My dad said a long time ago the sinks seldom had strainers.. If so, y'all might want to be checking your "pee traps" cause Dad said it wasn't unusual to have rings and stuff there.
