Default Might be going to Vegas

For my sister in law wedding. Instead of gambling all my money away I want to go metal detecting instead that way I get to keep all my finds. If I go I will probably stay for about 4 to 5 days. any good places to metal detect in vegas. Is it worth it to bring the detector? Let me know.

I bet if you take your MD into a casino, you might find some $ inside of one of those machines. Not sure if you can keep THAT $, though.

Good luck in finding a good place.

Default I do not know much about Vegas

other than sin city and gambling that I have heard. Was checking out ghost towns and there seems to be a lot of them. Am not sure if I will even have too much time to detect but if I do bring it I will invest 3 to 4 hours in detecting. Maybe while wife goes to casino I can detect aroung the neighborhood. Also anyone in vegas is it legal to detect in parks and public property? let me know. thanks in advance.

From the Nevada state website.

There is one rule for using a metal detector in Nevada State Parks. Our Nevada Administrative Code (NAC) states at 407.103 that you must receive prior authorization directly from the park before using your metal detector. This is because some of the parks are historical sites and removing any rock, plant life, etc. is not permitted (i.e. Berlin-Ichthyosaur, Ft. Churchill), although it may be permitted at our recreational parks (i.e. Lahontan, South Fork). A reference to our web site will provide your viewers the necessary information to contact the various parks they wish to visit and ask if metal detectors can be used there.

When I lived in Henderson,Nv which is about 20mins from the Strip.

I hit all of the Local parks without any Issues.. I wouldn't take it to RedRock or anything.. But if you stay within the local ball fields you'll be fine...
Good Luck and enjoy your visit...
