Looking at all the different names whites has put on its 9.5 coil.it has me wondering what the difference is between them.Example would be the 9.5 blue loop deep scan or black max.Is there really a difference ?

Whites does seem to change their coil names often but the main thing is to buy the one for your detector's frequency. If you buy a 950 coil just make sure it's either for a DFX MXT or M6 which is the Eclipse series as my Eclipse 950 coil has M6 on it but will work on a DFX or MXT. The 950 coils for the 6.59kHz detectors have various names but all work the same.
The 800 coils have labels such as Pro Scan or Precision Scan but are the same and work on the 6.59 kHz detectors The 5.3 coils for the 6.59 kHz detectors have names like Bullseye,Black Max and are the same. The 5.3 coils for the DFX, MXT, M6 are classified as Eclipse 5.3 Just make sure whenever you buy a coil for a Whites detector to double check which frequency. The DFX MXT M6 all use the same coils. The XLT, XL Pro's, Classic series, Eagle Spectrum etc. use the same coils. The older vintage Whites detectors used another type coil but most would never be concerned on those choices unless a collector. Just my thoughts. HH Bill |
