Default Robert L Tathams Treasure Cypher

Hi Everyone;

Back in the late 70's, Robert L Tatham, who was a treasure hunter and metal detector dealer based in Raytown Missouri published a pamphlet with a numerical cypher. The cypher was divided into three parts and pertained to the Civil War. If the cypher was solved, it would lead the person to the location of a treasure cache containing a gold coin, an emerald and some other items of value. I worked on this for awhile but it required a lot of research. Does anyone know if that cypher was ever solved? And whatever happened to Mr Tatham?

I've never heard of it - but it would be a blast to try to solve! Keep us posted if you have any updates!

Yeah- it would be but it's been about 30 years ago when I purchased it and worked on it. I think his cypher was based on an event that happened in Missouri during the Civil War. After all these years- I would surely think that it was solved - but then maybe not... It would have taken a lot of research to solve it as it was in the form of a substitution code, which aren't easy. But this was a KNOWN and VERIFIABLE "treasure" since Mr Tatham buried it himself.

I'm not trying to solve it any more. I was just wondering if anyone on this forum had heard about the cypher and if they did- was it ever solved.

I found out Mr Tatham passed away 2 or 3 years ago. His widow states the cache has never been found.
