Most of the time when I press the button to ground balance my metal detector it usually tells me not able to balance but it still works good and everything. I usually put it on coins/jewlery/beach mode. What do I need to do in order to ground balance? I mean I put the coil very close to the beach sand and like 2 times out of 10 it balances correctly. does anyone know? thanks in advance.:snowman:

You dont have a problem. That's very common on the beach because of the lack of minerals. You are dealing mostly with silicon. The DFX auto sets at 135 Coarse then will pick up the balance better as you begin detecting. You should be able to up your AC and Preamp as well for more depth. I see a lot of people on the beach taking their detectors for a "walk". Slow down and try and hunt during low tide. Ive always done well about 10 yrds from the water.
