Default Greatest Day in the Field

Hope y'all aren't getting tired of me yet!

What was your greatest day in the field? Doesn't necessarily have to pertain to what or how much you found, but just what made it the greatest day...

Mine I guess would have to be the day I found my silver dollar... I had just been turned away from hunting in the front of the old school I'd mentioned in my embarassment story... so I decided to go check out the site of the old train station that I knew about but never had pursued...

So I stop at the curb... get out and get all my stuff together... turn on the machine and start swinging, walking in a straight line down the side of the road entering the lot... I go maybe 50 yards - silence... and then I swear to my Mom, the first signal I got... I go down with the trowel and pull the plug up and there it is, on it's edge about 6" down... at first I thought it was a half, but when I pulled it out of the ground, I knew it wasn't... 1922 Peace dollar... HAD to have been lost within a few years of 1922...

I think as soon as I realized what it was, I whooped out loud in the general direction of the guy living in the trees out there :P then I think I yelled to someone across the street working... man, what a day...

Portrait...My greatest day in the field was when I took my first trip down town... Oldest part of town...And lots of detectors have been there, I found what I think everyone here calls a pocket drop I pulled about 11 wheats and a silver dime out of that hole... it was so exciting!! and I even came back a week or so later and was still finding coins from that same hole. You would have thought I found gold! That was great!

Just got through reading your thread on Most embarassing moments and I just can't stop laughing!!! Great Topic!!

Pat
