MD Local Chapters - Who's got one?
I'm joining my local metal detecting group at a meeting on Friday. Is anyone else a member of one of these? I met a member a few weeks ago and he was very nice. I expect it will be a huge help having some local guidance.

Clubs
I have organized MANY MD Clubs over the years and I have enjoyed each and everyone of them. Not only will you pick up tips, you will also have company of other MD'ers and learn of new places to hunt, history, identifying items etc.etc. I think you will really like being a member and all the things a club has to offer.

Secretary to both clubs in my area!!
Love the fellowship, organized hunts, meetings, show and tell, refreshments, 50/50's, raffles, t-shirts, hats and aprons, sending all occasion cards to anyone who needs one, and last but not least, a club full of men so there aren't too many women complaining!! (I'm a female!)

I've been a member of the closest club to me (about 45 minutes) and don't get to many meetings but don't miss too many of our hunts - 2 Open hunts and 2 Member hunts a year. Great club with alot of great members.
Like Sanddigger and Pappy said, I think you'll like it.
