Hi, Dylan! Family collections are a great place to look for treasure. A lot of time, people forget that they saved some coins and it is another way to find treasure! I hope your Grandpa will share his coins with you and maybe even remember a few he packed away!

Wheaties are rising in appeal and value as collectible coins. If you have or can borrow a metal detector, maybe a relative who lives in an older house will let you search on their property.

Good luck to you and remember that patience, persistence and time will always bring you success in metal detecting!

Hey Dylan, Thats Cool, The Oldest I've found is a 1936. Very Good of you to be up on the 43 penny. Some are worth more than that. There was a Thread some time ago hear and One went at Auction for $212,000.00. There is someone on TQ and I forget who it was that has one. He posted a Pix of it as it was given to him by his dad. My neighbor was putting in a new window in the front of his house and found a Wheatie from 1912. That was when the houses here were built. It was laying there in the wall. Keep on the hunt for that 43 cuz Ya never know, there may be one out there with your name on it.

Good Luck & HH

OK.....after thinking about it, then looking at mine.....I am holding about 30 1943 wheaties......so what one is worth $95,000.

And if I have one.....I'll pay for Dylan's Ace

I'm not sure what they are worth now but in 43' there were a few rare error coins. There were some struck on bronze planchets according to the Whitmans Red Book.
