Thanks for reponding to my last post about sketchy signals...the detector i use is called the Famous Trails MD 7030 Discriminator II. It doesn't have the digital readout, it has a sensitivity needle which indicates ferrous or nonferrous metals. Along with that it has the audio signal which has three tones, and those tones can be solid and non-interrupted or not... according to whatever variables are present . It has four knobs that are for tuning ,sensitivity, ground, and discrimination. i have been keeping these set at or near 50%. It also has three modes...VLF,TR1,and TR2. I'm using it in VLF. What all these things mean when mixed together in there in differant ways, i couldn't say. But when i keep those other controls at about halfway and use the VLF mode it seems to get alot of signals. So the machine is working well...the operator on the other hand, well...

. My question about sketchy signals is this...when you get a signal and you dig ( making sure to scan all diggings b4 discarding) and the signal seems to have moved from the origional location...so you dig there...and so on... what is actually going on? Later!
