Default Travel case ideas

Hi folks, Ive decided to look into buying a travel case for our detectors. I would like to take the MD's with us on vacations and business flights as well. Does anyone have any suggestions that could help my search? I would like it lockable, insulated and sturdy. Ive checked out a few sites including Kellyco and they have a few inexpensive products. thanks so much as always.

So far I've found one very old license plate, a lot of nails, some funky green pennies and other misc. change.. but who's counting? I'm just here to have fun, giggle, and make friends along the way!

I just break mine down and pack it in my clothes to protect it. I have always thought a case would be nice. JC

I break mine down and put it into a carryon suitcase. I put the trowel and anything that could be considered a weapon in my checked baggage.

As far as locking cases, I know that some have used gun cases. There are locks you can use that the TSA can use their keys to unlock, so your lock won't be broken. There's a thread on here with a few case ideas but they're pretty spendy.

I was thinking of that but the frequency in which I travel can get heavy at times and id hate to mess up my fun and investment but all great ideas.. Pris, do the security people look at you funny when they put the item through the xray?? Also, do they ask you to turn it on? Ive been asked many times to demonstrate that i can power items up.. thanks again!

I just tell them that I have a metal detector and they look at me funny because I told them what I had I've never had to power it on to prove that it works, but I keep batteries in it so I can if need be.

I've gone through security four times with it so far.
