Default MD Hunting Buddies

I was just driving around yesterday scouting some new sites with my scouting buddy when I wondered if anyone else brings along a scouting buddy when they are looking for sites or hunting sites. This guy is my 4 year old Black lab Ozzy. He loves cruising in dads truck looking for sites or just hangin out.

Let me guess, he's a water hunter? Labs would be good at that. I take our bouvier with us a lot and I'd take her a lot more if she didn't insist on barking at everything along the way. Her father never did that, must be that she's getting to be a cranky old bitch. 10 is getting old for a bouvier.

Cheers,

BDA

I've got a buddy (who recently bought my 5900Di), who's in the process of training his Lab/Chow mix to dig signals on command. He's making remarkable progress with it I might add. I suggested that he avoid the local schools & parks and restrict the use of this technique to gold prospecting.

lol.....I'm going to "fix" that problem Terri.....I found you a nice pair of gloves with a BIG R and L the the respective hand

Terri & I met last summer on a forum, and discovered we lived failry close to each other. Being new to MDing, it was great to have someone with more experienced to hunt with. It works-out really well, as Terri's from another state, and I've lived in this area most of my life, so I know the area pretty well. Terri's good at research, which is something I'm not wild about.

I understand everyone doesn't care for a hunting buddy, but it has it's advantages... 2 times the research, doubling the amount of sites, taking turns driving, plus an extra set of eyes.....not to mention Terri bakes alot & sends me alot of homemade goodies

Never mind about the gloves Smitty, you do perfectly well by shoving
your hands in face while Im driving,so I wont forget to turn .

Thanks for being such a great hunting partner, friend and my own personal guidance system. My sense of direction stinks and we both know it .

Joker, nice hunting buddy for sure. I don't think my weenie dogs would be much good on hunting coins.. I was lucky enough to run into "E" while hunting my local beach..We have been hunting quite a few times now and are awaiting the drop of the good stuff from the spring breakers that invade our beaches. She is good to hunt with and is good at it. Any time I want to hunt she always says lets go and that's good. I know that when we are driving to hunt different spots she gives good directions and turn left or right always helps me when I am talking so much. Hopefully I don't talk to much..At this point in time I am still working on my wife to come along . She has bad knees and is not ground friendly..I told her that I would dig if she would hunt..I am Still trying to get my wife interested but that will take some more time...It's good to have a hunting buddy for sure, keeps me out of trouble......Buster....

lol....Terri.....my hands were usually too busy covering my eyes, or clutching the dashboard.....especially on those occassions we're sliding on the ice with all 4 brakes locked-up heading towards mailboxes I never minded living "on the edge".....I just didn't know MDing could be one of those hobbies that provided it

See....look at all the fun those of you hunting alone miss-out on Besides, you miss the opportunnity to make a good friend.....and alot of laughs along the way.

Hey joker that is a very handsome Lab! I am sure he helps you a bunch. My 100% mutt does not like to ride in the car. He does like to bark at the other dogs that walk by, Beale.
