I found a 1899 quarter, called a barber quarter named for the man who designed the front of it, just last spring in an old 1800's school yard. Just thing what may be waiting you in your uncles yard!!!

Sounds like an awesome dream, I always have been fascinated with dreams, I used to fly in my dreams anywhere i wanted to go I just put up my arms and took air, I would love to go back to the 1800s and bring my detector. Thanks for the great post and sorry about your big blue toe. You know that will be a subject in chat soon. LOL

Ummmmmm well I do that too. Its fun to think how this coin got in the ground in the first place. If its a 100 year old coin, I like to imagine what the person looked like, the clothes they wore, what life was like in that time. Like someone said earlier, to think when you pull a 100 year old coin out of the ground, you are touching the past. You are the first person that has touched that coin in 100 years. Makes you think!

Ok one more reply before beddy-bye.

I have actually, when detecting that old house, laid my hands on it closing my eyes in the hopes that I would suddenly be wisked back in time.
Theres some ammo you Chat People can use against me in chat next time. LOL Maybe now the Mole Topic can rest.

JJ you know we always need a lurker in the chat room

Is time travel possible? That's a pretty sexy concept to entertian. I know this much, if it were, the first thing I'd do would be to change some of the decisions I made in my youth. Then I'd check out the layout of my town say oooh two hundred years ago.

And believe me when I say that I think of it often, espically the old house(pic of it in my profile) that I detect. If only I could travel back in time to see what the layout of this place was like, what kind of people occupied this house thru the years, where was that darn horse race track located, and also would love to seen the boats travel behind this house on the wabash-erie canal. If I could be granted one extremly weird wish, that wish would be to travel back in time just to observe!!
If you figure out a way - please let me go with you...when I was in grade school in Indiana, I was always fascinated with the canal systems...we used to hike along the old Whitewater Canal as boyscouts...brings back good memories!

If you went back in time and changed some of the decisions you made in your youth would the changing of those decisions mean that you wouldn't be able to make the decisions that lead to being able to travel back in time. If that were so then by changing the past you would change the future in such a way that you wouldn't be able to change the past.
It gets confusing very quickly doesn't it. Even more interesting is which decisions have meaning and which don't or are all decisions critical.

HMMM,

BDA
