Default Have to admit I'm disapointed

Let me begin by saying it's not my attempt to make anyone "feel bad", nor belittle anyone, nor place a "guilt trip" on them (though I'd previously joked about doing so).

I started this "Send Metal Man Around The World" thing because I thought it would be alot of fun, and give everyone an opportunnity to do something good for someone less fortunate....and give someone the opportunnity to get into MDing, something they otherwise may not be able to do.

Look at Dylan for example....look how exciited he is about winning a detector. Look how many of you are excited right along with him....if that's the case, why wouldn't you want to be a part of the reason someone else was given the same opportunnity?

This whole thing isn't anything about me, never was never will be......outside of being my idea. There's nothing in it for me, other than the feeling I'd get from helping another. I could never and would never take credit for it's success....that would be a credit given to those who take part in it....I'm no more than one of those people sharing equally with the rest who participate.

This whole thing has a slight cost, sure....it would require a few bucks postage to send him to the next person in-line, a small price to pay to bring happiness to someone who may need something in their life they couldn't otherwise afford. Let me explain something briefly, and I'm not looking for any sympathy from it. 5 years ago next month, I was involved in a serious accident, long-story short, I've lost everything I had because of it....my business, place to live, vehicle, credit, and most importantly.....my health, I just recently received Medicaid so I can finally get some treatment after suffering for those 5 years. It was only with the help from my dad I was able to get my Ace 250, and at this point in time, I don't even know if I'll be able to use it when the weather breaks.

Point is, I know what it's like to do without, again this has nothing to do with me, other than the fact of wanting to help someone who may be in a similar situation. I think a few dollars is a small price to pay for making a difference in someone's life. This isn't about my forum either, as I stated you didn't have to be a "member", but registration was required to post, which would include the picture of Metal Man. I wasn't asking for anyone to feel that they had to become a particapating member and had to post, you're welcome to post your pic & never return if you didn't want to.

Anycase, this whole thing hasn't "taken-off" like I hoped, and actually thought it would......I was just hoping there were more caring people who'd take part in helping someone......maybe I was wrong........

Sorry if I've even remotely offended anyone, it isn't my intent.....but I am disapointed, if nothing else in myself, for trying to help someone else........

Smitty

Never be sorry for wanting or trying to help someone. My butt is dragging since I worked yesterday. stayed at the shelter last night and am here at work today but it had to be done. I think your idea has merit and you should persue it. As you have seen treasure Quest is a very caring family and from what I have seen does a wonderful job at being one. The other day there were a few posts about " Why I like TQ" and so on and I did not participate in these. Not because I don't like TQ but because I would not be able to explain to someone what it means to me. I understand your frustration. It is my humble opinion that things just happen on here without any forethought or rhyme or reason. I hope you continue with your efforts and I have been very glad that you have been a part of our forum and enjoy hearing what you think.

Ohhh no!! I'm so sorry you're disappointed! Honestly I was REALLY looking forward to getting into it. I found your forum a couple of weeks ago and registered, I was waiting to get further down in line for metal man... but Kellyco was totally in and excited about it. Keep posting about it! Market this idea some more and lets ramp some interest!

Smitty,
I wish I could tell you that I particapated in this with even a small thought to helping someone less fortunate, but I cant. I did it because we are friends . I dont know what else to say except dont be disappointed,it will work out fine and everything else I know is bothering you will too .

I think things will take off but it just seams like it takes time for ideals to catch on. You have a great ideal but sometimes it just takes time.

Actually I have Metal Man at the minute. I am going to send it to BBQCook next. I gotta get a picture of it and do it like this weekend.

Hey Smitty I think it is a great idea! Maybe do a repost and see what happens? I dunno but it is worth a try, Beale.
