10 coins in a hole?

Yesterday when I was out detecting I dug a hole and found 10 coins in the same hole. 2 nickles(1955 and a date worn) and 8 pennies 5 of them wheats the oldest being 1916. Why would there be 10 coins in one hole? they were all right together and not spread out through the hole. any ideas?

We call that a "pocket drop" Love 'em!

I found almost that many in one plug once - Washington quarter, Mercury dime, buffalo nickle and a couple of wheats, I think... it's a thrill when you dig a deep plug and keep getting hits!

I would have to guess that it was hidden by a kid, and your imagination can run wild on figuring why he didn't come back to claim em.
