Question Changed my mind I think...

Ok I think I have changed my mind on detectors. At first I was going with the Fisher F2 and a Minelab X-70.I was lookin at the X70 for the gold side of it,but where I am at there probably isn't much gold to be found, other then rings etc.And I don't see myself getting away to go lookin for it else where much.

I am 99% sure on the F2,and have been reading more on the ACE 250 and have read it is a real good choice for beginners again.I just don't want a high dollar detector sitting if I don't have or make time to use it like all my guns.

So I think we will end up with the F2 and the ACE 250.Open for your thoughts.

I am confident you will not be disappointed in the Ace 250. It is definately one great machine. I have not used the F2 but would like to. I have read a lot about it and have found many great things concerning this machine. The X-Terra 70 is loved by most of the owners. I would love to get my hands on one to try out.

This is what I personally would suggest to you. The F2 (from what I read) was created to be a competitor to the Ace 250. They are both excellent starter machines, but why would you want two machines comparibly alike? I would suggest you do a few more reviews and narrow it down to one of the two machines and use it to start off with. From there on, if you choose to upgrade, go with a machine that is in another class - such as the X-Terra 70. This is just my 2 cents worth.

Whatever machine you choose to purchase, I am sure you are going to find many great finds. Good luck and I hope to see your finds soon!

I tend to agree with FLD. If it were me an I was unsure I would get 1 of either the F2 or Ace as a startr unit. Heck if you like hunting an upgrade is easy. Good luck with your choice, Beale.

I agree with buying either an F2 or Ace 250. Been using an F2 with the little 4" coil attached at trash infested areas and impressed with it's ability to isolate good targets in very heavy trash.

The Ace 250 has an impressive following but never used one myself.Once you get addicted to the hobby if your like many of us you'll be upgrading more than a few times and best to take time to learn the basics then figure out which way to go on an upgrade. Just a thought. HH Bill

In THAT case, I would say you have the better of the two machines narrowed down. It is good to see you will have two machines in use when you go out metal detecting. When I first purchased the Ace250 as my first detector, I realized that metal detecting is great, but is even better if I had a partner metal detecting along side of me. That is when I decided to purchase another metal detector so either my friends or my family can metal detect with me. It will be interesting to read your reviews of the Ace 250 and the F2 compared to each other, if you do decide to purchase these two machines. Good luck and happy hunting!

I hope to have my wife use one system and I the other, doesn't really matter whihc one she chooses. I just want her to try her hand. Sure am hoping Spring arrives earlier than later. LOL.
