Default My cancer

Well in another post found at Save your clad? I metitioned my cancer that I went trough this past summer. I am surprised that I did not post on here before about it. But I guess with everything else that went on and 2 other forums I was with I kind of forgot to tell you guys, sorry.

I am not trying to get too graphic and if it a little too much information then I am sorry.

This past summer I noticed a lump on my right testical. I did not think much off it at the time but as it grew it became evident that I would have to go to the doctor. So I went in to the doctor and had her check it out. She set me up for an ultrasound. Well on the ultrasound you could see a large dark area. It was for sure a tumor and due to its size it had to come out. So I have the right testicle removed. It turned out that it was in fact cancer. So not only did I end up wearing a jockstrap for the next month or so due to the surgery but also went through a month of radiation therapy. The radition therapy was not as bad as I expected. I was ofcourse tired and had a few other problems and was in bed much more. However "radiation therapy and chemo therapy" are completely different so I did not go though the lose of hair or anything. However they did shave areas for the surgery and due to the radiation therapy it has taken forever for the hair to grow back and I had huge problems with ingrown hairs.

Today I am doing much better. I still have some other health issues that I need to keep an eye on. One of my other health issues is something called "Marfans syndrom". That causes some pretty non-threating things such as hyper flexible joints and skin. I am 6 foot 5 280 pounds but can still put my feet behind my head, It can however affect the eyes and heart so I have to get an echo cardiogram every couple of years and also get my eyes checked out to see if any problems start. The flexible joints can be nice but it can also cause a lot of joint pain and for now that is really keeping me out of work

So as far as the cancer goes I guess you would call me "in remission" I think some time within the next month or so I am going to have to go in for a chest x-ray and then basically a full body cat scan or whatever it was. So not due to the surgery I had you can now call me lefty. I try to laugh about things like this so I don't cry. I have always covered a lot of stuff in my life with jokes.

Well there is a short story from this past spring.

Sorry to hear of your health problems...glad to hear you are in remission with the cancer...my brother went through the same thing years back...thought he would not ever be a father...but has 2 beautiful daughters now...the pain was terrible at that time of radiation for him...or what ever they used on him at that time...but he got through!!! He has been fine ever since.
Sure hate to hear of the other health issues causing pain for you!!! Sounds like you are keeping your chin up!!!
Wishing some enjoyable days out digging for ya!!!

My fiance and I have talked about kids in the future. We hope to have 1 or 2 in the future. However if we can not, we already have a wonderful 3 year old son.

So far I've found one very old license plate, a lot of nails, some funky green pennies and other misc. change.. but who's counting? I'm just here to have fun, giggle, and make friends along the way!
