Default Detecting graveyards

I've seen some posts on here about people detecting in graveyards, is that normal practice, I imagine there would be a lot of good stuff lying around but I don't want to feel like I'm disrespecting the dead, kinda spooky.

Default If you came to put flowers on your Grandma's Grave and

I guy was swinging a detector and digging in the turf beside it; What would you think about it? I say leave the dead to rest in peace, that's why they put R. I. P. on the tombstones.
There is so much out there to hunt that digging in a graveyard just doesn't cut it with me but then I won't detect historic forts here because I think this history belongs to the Bermuda People. Come to think of it I'm not really partial to digging in outhouses either. Maybe I'm too picky about the last two but for me Graveyards are Taboo!

Cheers,

BDA

PS If you have to rationalize the answer then you know what is right for you, already.

I couldn't say it any better then BDA did. Fortunately, I don't know of any outhouses so I'm safe on decision making there for awhile... lol!!

That's how MDers get a reputation (and the name I won't mention).....no one should get even remotely close to a grave. Also, graveyards aren't "public property"......and doubt the owners would grant permission to hunt, so if you witness someone doing so, odds are they're tresspassing & doing no good for the hobby of MDing.

That's what I was thinking, I'll stay out of them, I was told some people detect out in the grassy areas where no gravestones are but that still didn't seem right to me.

lol.....even though it's cold out, I wouldn't enter the bank with a ski-mask.....or yell "Hi Jack" to my buddy Jack in the airport

......too easily misconstrued to mean something other than it actually was.
