Default Ace 250 Testdrive

Well....I took my new 250 out to my test garden for a testdrive Thur. Was very impressed. The one thing that impressed me most was its ability to detect small gold....I have a small diamond tennis bracelett I found years ago in the dry sand at Myrtle beach. I found it with a Whites Classic ID.. My cz20 / minelab sov. gt or the explorer I once owned will not Det. the bracelett even in all metal mode...The 250 hits it hard even with the Sen. turned down 3 bars!!!! The 250 does lack the depth of the 1000$ plus machines but will find the small gold they miss...I also learned to go by the tones vs the digital display...they seem to be more accurate

Very good detector for the money!!!!

Default The Ace 250 is a Great Machine

I'm taking mine out for a test spin today so I can remember how to use it effectively, it's been 2 years since I've used it. Hopefully it all comes back to me as I'll be teaching Chris the Ace before I move him into the Excal 1000. The Ace 250 is a great machine and the most bang for buck I've seen in a detector. Easy to swing, easy to learn, detects as deep as detectors costing twice as much; what more can you ask for?

Cheers,

BDA

It is a great machine!!! I like it better than my old Troy X5 Shadow that cost almost 4x the price.

That 250 sounds like a hot little ticket, maybe I'll have to consider one for my second detector.

Question? You said you were in all metal mode, did you try it in other modes too? And if you did was it the same hit as in all metal? I know its better to go by the tones instead of the digital read out, but did you happen to look at what it is reading?
I'm just curious, because I buried my gold rings once to test out the ace...and on the ditigal read-out it jumped around, and the tone was loud, but would cut off. And that was in all the different modes.
Once it gets warm here, I'm have alot of different things I want to bury again so I can refresh my memory on the tones. I also relay on the sounds instead of the read-out...but still before I dig I like to see what the read-out is telling me the target could be.
Thanks

When I tested it I stayed in all metal mode 90% of the time...Heavy gold rings hit with a very loud tone and almost all of them hit 5 cent...all of the rings are burried around 4" deep...Small gold rings at 4" hit with a good tone but most came up in the foil icon....Ya got me thinking now...I didnt try foil to see if the tones sounded any different I working all weekend...Ill try the foil on Mon. or Tues. next week..hopefully It will give a broken tone...not as "Crisp/clear" as the gold does.

Hope this helps ya!!!

Hey Sandyfeet that is a good review of the Ace!! Glad to hear you like it. Did you get it at Barbee's place? Just wondering, Beale.
