This is really interesting and I like this post a lot. Old graves have always been interesting to me - it was just such a different style of honoring people. Today's headstones all look so similar, and rarely do you see the large, ornate kinds like in New Orleans. Not to mention, so many people chose to be cremated now-a-days rather than buried. But I think it's always nice to look at something that was meant to serve as a reminder, meant to last, meant to leave an impression of one person's life on earth, and do just that - be reminded.
