Default Upgraded My ROV Again.

Decided to upgrade my ROV again. I took the hoses off that I was using for up and down and used PVC pipe. I put a tiny bit smaller nipple on the end so it will build a bit mo re pressure. I think this makes it look cleaner. I also took the control box off and made it seperat from the unit. Now I can carry both parts seperatly and then plug it in when I get to where I want to be. I also upgraded the camera system from the B&W with the little TV to a full color system with flat panel lcd screen... Just wanted to share my progress so far. I will be testing it in a cave enviroment tonight. I think the overal machine looks cleaner and nicer now.

Thought you guys might like to see it..

Default That is Extremely Kewl!

I've never heard of anyone making their own ROV, the cost of a manufactured unit is higher than most TH'ers would dream of spending. What a great unit for scouting wrecks, especially if you have a magnatometer and some sidescan sonar.

My hat is off to you,

BDA

Thanks. I have somewhere around 4-500 invested in it. It actually works really nice and I have found items from coins to bottles and although the only reck I have seen with it so far was a underwater car I am sure it would work well with a wreck. I am working on a sidescan now so hopfully I will get to use it on a wreck or 2 this year.
