Default My son is getting Deployed.

Hey all just letting all my family, we are one, know this. Monday 2/18/08 my son, Jonathon USN on the USS Gonzalez DDG, is going out for 6-8 months. This will be his 2nd deployment. This time we have no idea where they are going. The Navy will not tell them.

Anyhow as a Parent we worry. Even though the chance of seeing action is slim it is there. My wife and I will go up to Norfolk Va to watch the ship leave. I am not looking foward to that trip at all.

Heck I have already started thinking about it. Just really letting all you know. Thanks for letting me get it off my chest, Beale.

Beale, my prayers go out to your family and your son, and to all parents who have to wave goodbye to a child being deployed. Please thank your son for his bravery and service to our country. I hope they can all come home soon.

God Bless your son Beale. I sorta know the feeling of watching the ship leave, but I was on the ship, USS Independence CVA62 out of Norfolk.
You just got to keep in mind that he will be OK, and a good experience had.

Earl

That brings back memories, Beale. I was thinking along the same lines as Earl. Made me remember when I was in the Navy and MY ship (USS Belmont AGTR-4) was moored in Norfolk.

Default That's gonna be a tough one, Beale.

I'm sure you raised him right, so he'll be safe and he'll continue to make you proud.

God be With You Both,

BDA

My mom can relate to you Beale, when I went to Turkey twice, for the Persian Gulf war then the year after, I'm sure he'll be just fine on that ship, stay positive, my thoughts are with you all!
