Default dad is getting the detecting fever

Am planning on going to South Beach on the 29th of February. Even taking the day of from school for that day. I had spoken to my dad before and he told me to get to his house at around 11 to 12 noon so he could get some sleep then he could detect with me. I was planning on hitting 3 or 4 spots before I got to south beach. Well guess what? We talked the other day and now he wants me to get to South Brach and pick him up real early so he could detect with me. The bad news of this is that I might not make it to the other spots I wanted to go but the good news is that we will have breakfast at this real nice cuban place in Lincoln Road called David's Cafe (his treat)then at about 7 A.M. we will start the hunt till about 2 to 3 P.M. anyways there should not be too many people at the beach on Friday and hopefully it would be ideal if it was a bit overcast.
My plan is to detect the sand for about 3 hours giving my dad about 30 to 45 minutes of detecting (he gets a bit tiered after a while)then when tide is at it's lowest at 10 A.M. do some detecting at low tide. We have a deal that whatever he finds he keeps. No matter what happens it is going to be nice to metal detect and have some quality time with the old man.

Great news smartfox that you and your dad are detecting together, I wish that I could have with my dad.

The bad news may not be bad news at all, South Beach is a big beach and you may be glad that you were able to spend all your time there.

Good luck!

That's great that your dad wants to go with you, I told my sister when I go home to visit (in Ind) this summer that I'm gonna take her md'ing with me, she is super excited at what she might find.

whatever I find. Even if my dad finds something good I will take a snap of it on the digital camera. Funny thing is that my dad was not too much into the detecting thing but one day he tried it and found like 1.25 in quarters then with all the finds I showed him he now likes it. Hey who does not like finding free money and jewlery tax free?
