Ode to the penny.

I've noticed as well as I'm sure you have, pennies are more plentiful to dig than other coins. Why is that? Putting aside the obvious, that it is just a penny when lost, it does bost one of the most popular presidents in our history. He was intrumental in ending slavery. And don't forget the famous Gettysburg Address. We pick ole George up pretty fast, when he falls to the ground. Kennedy, he won't lie on the ground long. Even little bity Roosevelt will be snatched up quick. What about Abe. He deserves better. I remember snapping Abe between my fingers as a kid to see how far he would go. I'm ashamed. So, when your coil passes over a penny, pick him up and dust him off. Show him a little respect. He's coming up an anniversary in a year. Might be sporting a new design again.

I think that there are more pennies, is because we carry more .....

Never thought about it like that before but you are right, I always dig pennies & I pick them up when I see them lying on the ground.

I still like wheats for sure...100 pennies is still a dollar in my book, just more to love... like me.......Buster....

I will be honest it depends on where I am. If I am in a new ballfield, or park I will avoid the zinkers. I like digging the all copper ones and can tell them on the X-70. Sometimes like after work when time is short I will only dig dimes and above? I only do this at places I go back to when I have more time.

I know I am missing some stuff this way, but ok.
