Default wouldn't this be exciting & fun

hi
i have been in az for 2 months now (looking for gold) and have found a lot of old mine shafts in my travels.
don't you think that it would be exciting to get a tv camera with a good light on it , 300' of lead wire and a monitor and drop the camera into some of these mines and see what was left in them.
there is one mine in particular that i dropped a weighted line (led flashlight) into and it's almost 200' deep before going of at a 90 degree angle and i can see an old shovel leaning against the wall and what looks like an old lantern.
it would be treasure hunting of sorts (you could take pic of your finds) i'm sure it would be to dangerous to try and recover them.
you would have the pics and the gov. couldn't take them away for being a historical artifact.
any experts out there that would know what a unit like this would cost?
i guess being in the hot az sun for 2 months is starting to drive me crazy,
or maybe it's because i found some gold.
have a good day all, george

That sounds like a really neat idea. I would put the camera into a plexi case or something that might protect it if it fell. Though, if it did fall, how on earth would you retrieve it???

There are cameras on the markets that pipe layers and plumbers use. It has a small camera on one end of a ling "Snake" and a monitor at the other end.
I would imagine that these units are expensive. Maybe a used one can be had for cheap money....???

Good Luck
Jerry

I'm glad I'm not there, I'd be rigging up a climbing line and going down that shaft. It'd would be a great adventure but I'd be smart enough to bring along someone I could trust for back up. I wouldn't be telling the Princess about it, this sort of thing would just give her grey hairs and I like her just the way she is.

Cheers,

BDA
