BDA - If someone wanted to ship food items to Bermuda (to an individual) does that still constitute "competition" to local vendors?

I was hesitant to use the term 'smuggling' in my post. An island without income tax per se (it's only 4.5% across the board) makes most of their income by charging duty and specialty foods can be confiscated to protect local vendors. It's a very small island, 23 sq. mi. total but it has billions pour through it every day because most of the international reinsurance companies (the guys who insure insurance companies) hang their hat here. These Big players stay here because of the tax advantages and a lot of citizens from other countries including the U.S. have money stashed here to avoid taxes.
So technically speaking it was smuggled meat we ate but it tasted all the better for it.

Cheers,

BDA

Hey BDA that looks so good! The "smoked meat" sounds like something I would like to try. I enjoy trying different foods, and this has got my mouth watering, Beale.
