As a former bartender (for 4 years to put myself through school) I have to tell you that this recipe does sound good... but 1.5oz of dry Vermouth is a little much. I always made mine with .5oz, and if it's a gin martini, I splash some in the glass, swirl it around and toss it out. Martini's should be stirred... shaken causes them to be watered down (altho much cooler), and distracts from the taste... the vodka/gin even gets all foggy, you can SEE the air bubbles... I never understood why Mr. Bond always wanted 'em shaken.
Now... a good single malt scotch isn't easy to come by. So goodluck. I know an excellent chocolate martini recipe if anyone wants (needs?) a desert drink...
