A journey with an unexpected outcome
Today I went to a great little Mom & Pop detector store in Gettysburg, Pa. My sole intent was to get a coil cover for my Cobra Beach Magnet. Of course, as always happens, they had none to fit my machine. So, I just started browsing around and chatting with owner. In spite of his large inventory of quality mds, this lil ol Ace 250 kept catching my eye. I decided to try it out, and it wanted to come home with me. So it did.
 Kinda like going to look at puppies and trying to go home without one. It just don't work that way. Anyhow, I got myself and early birthday present. I think thats a good enough excuse. Don't you? Gonna try it out tommorrow, hopefully.--- Ed HH

Hey Ed, I think you did well for your B'day present. There should be lots of C/W stuff around you. I lived near you back in the middle to late 60's, I was at Ft Ritchie and went to school at Smithsburg. You know any Rhineharts around there.

Rhineharts and the coil cover
Well Pris, I did get a coil cover for the Ace. I can't make too many more trips looking for coil covers. It could get expensive.
HH EdEarl, My mother was born and raised in Smithsburg, she knows Rhineharts and everyone else from there. I have an uncle that retired from the Fort and a friend or 2 who served up there. I guess you know that its closed now. HH Ed
