Believe it or not but most 2nd graders are doing simple algebra at the schoold here. Kids learn much faster and earlier than when some of us were in school. I had to take an adult education math class just to help my kids with homework.

I got the answer on the second try after re reading several times and going through a couple erasers. I try not to use the calculator until I'm finished and only to check my calculations. Its been way too long since high school, much longer since the fifth grade. I may have to take another adult education math class just to go to the grocery store.
