Default cache planting

Has anybody ever thought of making their own cache? maybe a baby food jar filled with a few state quarters, maybe a coupleof sacajawea dollars buried in the local park somewhere, maybe leave anote on how to be contacted. even if it was only buried for a short time, imagine the story that would make I'm thinking about doing this any thoughts?
