Sad but true.

In 1986 we used to go shooting at lunch off in the desert. I had my guns in my car at all times back then. (Phoenix AZ)

Even took one to my 1st period, in class to show my welding teacher my new .357 for Christmas.

That was then. . .

Very true and a sad state of the worl we live in.

I had a old 1962 Chevy truck. During my Sr year I drove it to school, with a gun rack, and 2 shotguns in truck. Used to hunt after school, we all did, Beale.

Things are different now a days for sure...I know I got spanked with the belt a few times when I did stupid stuff back in the 60's...I feel that I grew up OK..and I am glad my parents did what needed to be done back then..It would never work in these times for sure..I believe I turned out pretty good...I do have a sick sense of humor and act like a fool sometimes, but I attribute that to my moral standards and that I have regressed back to my pre school years...We can only hope that the youth of today turn out as good as some of us older folks..Buster...

Yea, we did the same thing. Had our hunting gear in the trunk so we could go after school. Couldn't do that in Maryland now.

Crazy, Crazy world nowadays..
Its like when im out some where, and i see a kid throwing a fit...I dont want to wip the kid, i want to wip the parent for letting them act that way..
When i was growing up, if my neighbor saw me doing something wrong, They would wip my butt and take me home and my mom would wip my butt and if it was realy bad my mom would tell my dad when he got home and he would wip my butt too..I have had a few good spankings in my days, but can honstly say , " i deserved every one of them and learned from them"..

Default in 1988

my senior year of high school. Every truck in the parkin lot had a gun rack, guns, ammo, a couple of skinnin knives. and more than one even had a lil home grown in it (i am not advocating the chronic only stating a fact)

If the millitary was as well armed as Man Highs class of 88' this war would be over.

now my 1st grade son brought home a paper that says even nail clippers are off limits because they can be used as a weapon. (never heard of a lethal pedicure b4)

the year corporal punishment was banned in WV... My dear mother took me to school first day of class and told the principal if i needed an ass whippin give it to me and call her to let her know so she could give me another when i got home. for 3 years i was the only kid in my school getting spanked. (hard head makes a sore ass)

so sad to see the schools and society in general in its current state. All i can figure is to raise my boys as best as i can. teach em to pray. and teach by example.. Hope that they live life to their fullest potential.

Thanx Rob for a very mind provoking post....

Just make sure they dont pray in school, or they will get them for that too...
