Default What A Bummer

I took my 2 gold italy chains to 2 different places. One place was kind of shady and they told me that they were into more antique gold then I took it to JR jewlers and they tested one of the chains and told me they were fake. Can you believe that? The chains are completely sealed and say 14k italy. How can they be fake? I do not understand. Is it that since maybe the gold is not American and might look a bit different they might be scared to take it? Going to take it to a couple of other places before I fully give up. Any comments, suggestions, or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I think he was just trying to get you to sell it to him cheap then he could jack the price up to resell it.
