I would have done like Debby, Just called 911 when you saw a suspicious vehicle or person. Once the suspicious person realizes he has been observed, he will probably leave and maybe never be found. You never know if they are in a stolen car or not, then the plate # would not do any good. Except finding the stolen vehicle, maybe.
There is a better chance of catching him/her if they don't know they have been observed till the police show up.
Maybe move all the kids to a safer place till the matter was resolved. JMO
Congrats on the observation of a suspicious person, and thanks for being so observant. I am sure all the parents are thankful also.

Earl

Thats scary stuff and glad your ok.

I actually had a kid pull a knife on me the other day because I looked at him funny, and this is a nice neighbor store parking lot.

He pulled up behind me and said you dont know me, im a Gman.. Well I dont know what a "G" man is?? So I asked him if he was a garbage man? He said, Im a gangster and pulled his knife.. well, hmmm unfortunatley for him my knife is bigger and he didnt stay long enough to explain what Gman really means..

I dont recommend this but in the chaos of the moment it worked for me.

Wow Kid, now that was one hell of a Friday, hope they catch the lunatic, I would have probably done the same thing as you, I can't keep my mouth shut & tend not to be afraid of much so I would have been out there too.

I'm glad everything worked out for the good. They'll catch him - if he did this once, he'll do it again. Glad all of you are OK!
