You Only Have 24 Hours !!!!

Reading this post brings back a memory for me, My Dad and I where very close, we where more like friends than a Son and Dad. Our favorite thing to do in the world was fish and as I got older well we didnt get out that much anymore. One Thursday night I called my Father on the phone and told him to take Friday which was the next day off and we could go fishing. Well he was all up for it and I arrived at his house morning and off we went. That day was kinda different for us both tho, we talked and asked each other questions that had never been brought up before. About midday he caught a Shellcracker that had to be some sort of a world record. I have fished all my life and I never saw a bream this big. It weighed ever bit of 4 lbs, no joke. Well it tickled him good and I started in on him mounting it. I told him he had to get it mounted and checked by the Wildlife Game Officers and he looked at me and said" son we will catch him again some another day and slowly let him free back into the water". After a long day of fishing and talking I took him home and the last word we said to each other was I love you and I will see you later. The next day he died. I turned 25 that day also.
Now I am not one to get into preaching to what people should do and stuff like that, but If their is someone you love you better let them know. I hear about people putting off seeing their Dads or Mothers and man I would give anything I have in this world to just go fishing with him one more time. We as people take to many things for granted, I also did. We could have went fishing a hundred times a year, but I always had something better to do. God granted me one more day and fishing trip with him and I am forever thankful for that. So if your reading this and have a dad go see him, take him out and do something, take him metal detecting or just something,LOL GODBLESS

I have to confess that I would spend a lot of my time figuring out an angle to cheat Mr. Death yet again. Assuming I couldn't find a way out of this predicament I would reflect upon my life and be sure that I'd accomplished all I was meant to do. The entire time would be spent with my Princess as two heads are better than one and I trust her judgement, implicitly.
Good food, good wine, a perfect sunset and quality time with my wife. A quick call to all of those I Love, in the final hour to say so long until next time.(parting is such sweet sorrow)
By that point things would be fading to black, so I'd just enjoy the last few moments with Susan and our dog Bree, some place nice but convenient so she wouldn't have a problem, having my body taken care of after I was gone.
All very hypothetical of course, surely I could find a way out of it with 24 hours to come up with a solution.

After reading your post yesterday. I drove the 28 little miles and saw my father that I have not spoken too since I was 12 years old. I never remember him being so happy. It's his birthday. Made plans for future visits. God works His magic when you least expect it. Thanks.
