How does one find out if its ok to md in a state park, I know it varies form state to state, just wondering if there is a government site.
Or is it proper to just do it and wait to see how it goes?

I found the government state park site for my area , while it does not mention mding it does state this

"D3. To cut, injure, crush, deface, or disturb any tree, shrub, plant, rock, building, cage, pen, monument, lawn, fence, bench, or other artifact or property."

"Offenses under Section D1-D7 shall be punishable by a fine of $50.00. Offenses under Section D8-D9 shall be punishable by a fine of $75.00"

I guess that covers it :( !

I would still try to ask someone about hunting that site...They might be able to help you at the county court house where they sell the permits for the fairs..Some one else might have some better ideas on who to ask....Buster...

Remember - even if you cant dig - there is still a LOT of stuff to be found right on the surface...I surface hunt when the ground is too frozen to dig - and have found a lot of clad and even a nice silver ring...

Looks like a great place. I don't know about MA, but in PA, the state parks all have park offices and I just called a local one and got permission.
