Default want to get a gold/silver testing kit

I'm tiered of people saying to me this is worth this/that/etc. I really trust you guys but have a problem trusting people out in the street wanting to make a buck. I have never lent out big amounts of money to anyone or vouched for anyone wanting to make a big purchase under my credit or anything like that. My grandfather always told me never to do these things and it is a lesson that I have kept and will keep for life. I want to get a gold/silver testing kit and learn how to test the stuff myself instead of trusting other people of the value of my stuff. Is there one testing kit that can do both gold and silver or are they two different kits? Remember that I had those 2 gold chains and I took them to the jewler and he told me it was fake. I also want to test the ring I found which I am sure that is 14k gold as well as my wedding band. Let me know. thanks.

Default I would check with

I would check with a reputable jeweler and has where he would suggest I get the test kits. I think you have a good idea of learning to test for yourself. If I am lucky enough to find any gold or silver I will probably do the same thing that you are doing. Wouldn't the internet have these kits?

Hi Smartfox. I know nothing about them, But when I was in West Coast Prospectors, they had a guy that would test everybody's gold for free. but it was not liquid form. It was like some kind of meter. I always wanted one but never did. I don't know where You can get them, but I'm sure they are out yonder somewhere. Try Google I guess
