Default Your best site.

This time I would like to here about everyones favorite site to hunt or a past site that still hasn't been beat. So far mine has to be the old school yard from the 1800's. I found so much there. Barber dimes, barber quarter, chinese coin, rings, buttons, buffalo nickles, enough wheaties to sink a boat, silver Roosies, Mercs, and washington quarters, and on and on. I took a friend out there and he found one modern penny the same day I pulled 3 silvers out of the ground. That was and still is the best place I've hunted......yet.

My Civil War sites come and go. There is one of those sites that I have found 3 bullets and a few wheaties. But, probably it would be the school yard that holds a carnival each spring. It has produced a silver ring, a silver earring, loads of clad, and the prize...a 1956 All County football award (a small football about 3/4" long). I am due to go back.....the fair was held last weekend.

Default Best Site

Well maybe not my best site, but one with interesting history. An old Go- Cart race track dating back to the 1950s out in the middle of the country where my father & his friends use to race go carts when they were in their teens & early 20s. You would never know it's there as it's an old farm pasture now. Hunted it just one time years ago & found my first silver quarter, & some wheat cents & very old iron one of those big heavy monsters that I believe they use to set on a wood stove to heat up & then iron cloths with. That baby sounded off like you wouldn't believe, I almost quick digging it, when I pulled it out of a hole a good 18" down. I sware it weighs about 15 - 20 lbs One of those spots where I'm pretty sure no one has ever hunted, because if you didn't have parents that lived around there, you wouldn't know it even existed, as like I said it's a farm parture now. The owner has known my parents & me my whole life & I can hunt there anytime I want just as long as I let him know I'm coming out. Maybe I should take my shiny new F75 out & see what I can come back with!!!

Sounds like a great site Rob.Were i whent to school the building is no longer used. They built a new one back in the late 80's I think.I was the first person to run a coil over the ground there and some days I could fill my pockets with silver coins.I still go there and still find stuff but it's few and far between.

My favorite site though is a place I call the Glowworm. There used to be an old foundation in a field there but the farmers moved all the stones off to the side and use the field mostly for hay but used to grow corn there.I've found numerous large cents, king George coppers and about a dozen "chicken colonel buttons"( One of witch you now have ) and tons of flat buttons and relics.I go there every now and then but seldom find anything anymore.I just realy feal comfortable there it's on a seasonal road and is just a great peacefull relaxin place to be.There are also several old abandoned roads and other foundations close by that I love to explore.I got's a date for Sat.and was thinking of bringing her there for a hike along the old roads.Ya see this way I get to take a pretty lady out on the town,I just havent told her yet that it hasent been a town in like 100 years.

My favorite would be the place I hunted while up in Delaware..Found my 1900 quarter and a shield nickel about 2 inches deep and about 5 feet apart...Still have not found anything like that down here in Florida...Other than the beaches I have no favorite sites here...Buster...

Back in the day 78-80 We went back to visit my Mom and I spent 2 afternoons Mding at my old elementary skool ( see how much i learned) . we had a square in the center no one ever checked. We used to have carnivals etc. there. Anywho, i couldn't walk 3 ft. w/o finding a wheatie or silver. I filled up 2 bandanas with coins. I found 2 rolls of quarters and a roll of nickels someone dropped. It was fantastic and THE BEAUTIFUL ONE can back me up. She STILL holds it against me for leaving her alone with dear old Mom.

Heres mine, I have found 8 silver dimes, 2 silver quarters, around 30 wheats, and a old play toy ring. I love this place! It was built around the 30's
