Hello,
Can i ask what part in northern MN? I recently moved away from Roseau, 10 miles from the Canada border. Have also lived in Hutchinson, Warroad and Perham. Now living in Arizona, moved here from Alaska. Thanks.

It started to rain in earnest (thunder, lightening and such)this morning leaving standing water most everywhere since the ground is still in a frozen condition. The forcast is for rain to continue until tomorrow evening and then snow with accumulations of up to 8 inches. Winter storm watches are posted by the National Weather Service. I don't like to think of myself as a whiner, but reading what you guys are doing with your machines and not being able to get out there is tough!!

I usually don't mind the weather here and don't let it stop me from getting out and doing the things I like to do. I have never used a metal detector before and have been wanting to try it for years and with a new detector sitting next to the easy chair collecting dust instead of those dimes, or dollars, or what ever else, is making the wait difficult. I just can't wait to get out and try the things you folks are talking about. Last forcast update said 8 to 15 inches of snow between last night, today, and tomorrow. I hope this is one of those forcasts that is wrong. Like I said it normally doesn't bother me but it's going to extend the wait a couple of weeks. I appreciate the words of encouragement. It's that "IN BETWEEN" time of year where there is not alot you can do. XLTKID - We are in the country north of Grand Rapids, MN.

Here in Colorado, we can get snow in the high country any month of the year...luckily for me, we live on the plains-dide of Denver...it's getting beautiful spring weather now...

Minnesota is beautiful, though - and you'll be hunting before you know it!

Default snowed again

Hey Roadking,
Know how you're feeling, here in NW Wisconsin my two boys and I were planning a beach hunt today with a few stops at small towns on the way,
only to wake up to an 1-1/2" of snow.
Snows melting, but it's 30 degrees and windy as heck. End of April and still getting this kind of weather is upsetting.
Oh well, maybe tommorrow.

Roadking...My .$02 of advice is time for research. Hit the books, photos, google earth and maybe even foot recon. Yea it nice here in Florida now, but the monsoon season/hurricanes are right around the corner. I kick myslef in the arse here, one of the oldest houses I have reconed from my daily drive home from work is actually completely overgrown. I mean you can barely see it now. I actually was there this past friday, locked myself out of my truck and had to call the familia to rescue me, but I got some foot recon in. It looks like I cant touch it till tha fall...go figure

The storm has passed and the result is somewhat less than the weather service predicted. We only received about 4 inches of snow. It seems the areas around us received the brunt of the storm recording anywhere from 8 to 15 inches of snow. The forecast for the rest of the week is temps in the 50's so the snow should be gone in a few days!! YEEEHAWWW!!! as they say. Hope to get out by the weekend.
