Default A GREAT Hunting Opportunity!

Like BDA earlier this week, today I had the BEST birthday present a hunter could ask for!

After my business in Butte MT was finished this morning, my engineer (who lives in the area) asked me if I'd like to drop by to see his farm on my way back to the airport. I had a little time, so I said "sure".

As it turns out, Mike and his wife have a nice 27 acre farm with a beautiful creek that runs through the bottom portion of the property. As we walked around, he told me that the entire lower area was once a well documented indian camp AND was also a site where Lewis and Clark spent several weeks during their expedition to the northwest!

Mike has the property listed for sale, and I asked him if I could have the opportunity to come back for a few days and hunt the property (both MD'ing and artifact hunting) before he sold it - to which he replied "absolutely"!

Mike and his wife have found several points and other artifacts - and have never really "hunted" for them...most were uncovered when they had some earthwork done to build their horse barn and exercise corral for their horse business.

SOOOO - I'm strategizing now to set-up some time for Peggy and I to return for a few days on our own expedition...I never thought I'd be this lucky!

Truly a once in a lifetime chance, Steve - I just hope they don't find a buyer before I can get back!

Shawn, that should be a good hunt ...Should be lots of old stuff there...Hope you find the good stuff...Also Lewis and Clark buried and discarded all kinds of stuff all along the way on there trip just to get rid of things..hopefully you find some relics from the past....Buster.....

Wow that's great news Shawn, I sure hope they don't sell it any time soon so you & Peggy can get up there, just to be standing where Lewis & Clark stood in itself would be amazing, best of luck to you my friend!!!!
