Cool story Les. I can't begin to tell ya how many times I get a good solid signal, only to have the target disappear into nothingness
But I'm stubborn, and like a bulldog, I will not stop till I locate what it was that I was searching for. Sad part is, most of the time it turns out to be a stupid piece of foil setting just right that does this to me. But hey, ya never know eh. Yesterday I went hunting a parking lot, got a good stong dime signal, and I looked for it for a half hour. Kept isolating small piles of dirt and stones, but simply could not find the dime. So I started picking up the gravel and waving it in front of my coil, bingo, I had it. WOOHOO! Turns out, it was a piece of melted aluminum that really looked just like one of the stones.DOOOOOOOO! |
