Default Bluenoser's Log...Da a Bluenose moment

From the land of the Bluenose....well deserted this holiday weekend as my Hunny Bunny is gone to her parents summer house in Tatamoughce for the annual family gathering while I'm slaving away at work.

So after my 12 hour shift called the Bardman to go out for a quick hour dig at a local school to relieve the stress of the day and the thought of having to cook my own supper and going home to an empty bed. Bardman has really come into his own and was doing a slow methodical grid of the playing field as I was wandering all over the place like an albino crow (sea gull) going from garbage can to garbage can. Hit a faint signal and began to make my 4x4x6 inch plug and retrieve the target....well it disappeared. Anyway having had this happen before I thought the target had fallen deeper into the hole so I excavated even further being careful not to disturb the grass surrounding where the plug had been removed. Well still no luck so I scooped the side of the hole with my fingers thinking that the coin was on edge................after five minutes of tinkering around looking for the lost target I happend to glance sideways and there it was.......a silver ring was impaled on the blade of my hunting knife which I use for digging! I'm sure it would take all of John's (Edmonton) skill to straighten this puppy out from it's newly acquired oblong shape.

Well the Bardman was on fire and totally beat the halibut out of this bouy money wise with each of us finding around 30 coins.
The ring was sent to Stevie in Arizon who straightened it out and we gave it away as a prize on the Lucky Dan Forum.

Cool story Les. I can't begin to tell ya how many times I get a good solid signal, only to have the target disappear into nothingness But I'm stubborn, and like a bulldog, I will not stop till I locate what it was that I was searching for. Sad part is, most of the time it turns out to be a stupid piece of foil setting just right that does this to me. But hey, ya never know eh. Yesterday I went hunting a parking lot, got a good stong dime signal, and I looked for it for a half hour. Kept isolating small piles of dirt and stones, but simply could not find the dime. So I started picking up the gravel and waving it in front of my coil, bingo, I had it. WOOHOO! Turns out, it was a piece of melted aluminum that really looked just like one of the stones.DOOOOOOOO!
