Ok now it begs the question. Do you save all 1982 (last year full copper) pennies? I do not right now , but I may start, Beale.

Great question! I saved a bag full of them when they were first circulated, still new and shiny, as there are seven different general-circulation varieties of the 1982 cent (and the "S" makes 8). There were large dates and small dates, some all copper and some zinc. At the time, I figured that after so many years, some varieties would be worth more than others. Thanks, Beale; your post reminded me that I've got this big bag of '82 cents somewhere. Holy cow! I'd sort of forgotten about them, and here it is 26 years later. Guess it would be a good time to figure out where I stashed them, and check the current values. Darn it, I'll need to buy a current coin values book.
