Default Any Good

Old Maps on the internet that you guys recommend? I live in Florida and want to check out a couple of places around 1900 to 1950s like pompano Beach, and a couple of other places. Let me know of any good map websites. Thanks in advance.

I would love to recommend something, but the problem I've encountered with the Internet is that many sites are unreliable. I'm sure there has to be a few good sites available, but they are probably pay sites. I would recommend hitting your local library, and then the town's municipal building where you want to hunt. I'm kinda lucky. My library is in the municipal building, so I get 1 stop shopping.

Good luck with your research and HH!

Don't know if this helps in Fla. but in Ohio i check Sanborn fire insurance maps on the web for my town. Good clear maps going back to 1889. Good luck.

Default Thanks guys

I need a map that can be very specific for example a park in the 1900s that might still be here now but also where the park was at the time and between what street because you know how it goes: a lot of times a park is in a certain area but as time goes by they either expand or make some building where the goodies are.

Default I did

it seems to be so hard to get accurate maps on the areas I want them. I did find some old postcards that help. Tomorrow I will try to go to the library and find some information there. Where would be a good place to start at the library? for accurate maps? will even bring some change to photocopy the good stuff if they have it.
