Before you leave, check the news. There are a lot of fires down there right now and they have had a part of I95 closed. They are also evacuating a lot of people.

Default any reccommendable places to stay

at Sebastian? I would like a hotel right at the beach so all I have to do is pull the detector and detect. What are the price ranges? Nothing too fancy just a pool with oceanfront and with ocean view if possible. Also Is it legal to detect all beaches from the shoreline to the dune or are there beaches that are forbidden because the shipwreck is too close to shore? I heard something not to detect within 300 feet form a wreck radius or something like that. Also are there signs on beaches that you cannot detect that say "no metal detecting"? or do you just need to know that? I have a whites metal detector which cost me about $1,000 bucks so I want to do everything legal, Have a little fun, maybe discovering a treasure or 2 and would not want the authorities to take my precious detector away. Thanks in advance.

I'm heading out to Sebastian Tomorrow morning for low tide.

I'm going to start at Bonsteel Beach then work my way just past Sebastian to wabbasso beach..

Dry and wet sand hunting is fine ... But from what I hear you cannot enter the water with a detector... due to the Salvage leases..

As far as places to stay they get few and far between on the coast as you leave Melbourne area....

But theres always camping at Sebastian inlet and just before the inlet..

If thats your cup of tea... I've camped out many many times at Sebastian..

good luck

This is where we usually stay when we go.

Sebastian, Florida | Ferndale Lodge

It is located on the intercostal. It is about a 15 minute drive to the ocean. They have canoes that they let you take out for free into the intercostal. I dont know if you are allowed to do it but you might see if you can md at pelican Island. Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge

Pelican island is a very short canoe trip from the hotel.

Sept through Nov are good times for the beaches. The water Cuts the beaches quite often . Look for the hard pack sand if you can find it. It works like a false bed rock . Good Hunting.
