Default My favorite 'season'

Forget Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall - I was driving home from work and saw sidewalks being torn out I'll know where I'll be after work tomorrow

Good luck!!! I had planned to get out today but it's getting ready to storm. Again.

I am really shy and even though the sidewalks are city property, I'd feel weird searching them without talking to the property owner. Do you talk to them first?

Nope, never. I've had a few ask what in the heck I was doing. When I said looking for coins they would just roll their eyes and walk away Even had the city workers BS with me. Can't really do any damage to a torn up sidewalk area!

No silver

They already had the forms in on one long section I hunted a smaller strip (1/4 block) and nothing on silver, found a clad dime and two clad quarters. On the cent end, I managed 6 wheaties, but 3 were from the 1950's (1950-D, 1955-D & 1956-D). Unless I find a '55 double die, '50 wheaties are just another coin for me. Found 50 or so of them in my hood as it is.

The other dates were 1932, 1945 and one that is so gunk covered I cannot make out the date. I'll try some electrolysis on it. I may go back in the AM and see if I can find any more tear-ups that don't have the forms in yet, otherwise I'll try the section with the forms put in. Most of my finds are to the sides, right where the forms go
