Default Electrolysis, it does a body good

Well, good enough where you can at least see the date LOL. These two 'beauts' were found at a sidewalk tear up in an area dating back to the early 1900's.

Before and after pics - you can see why they needed a tad of cleaning. I'll soak them in olive oil for the final stage. 3 indian heads (last 2 years), all beat to &*)&% when I found them

Nice. I often wish I hand some of my old lab potentiostats for some real good coin cleaning. That, an ultrasonicator, and a good analytical balance. Oh well. Tools of a trade long left behind...

Nice finds. I've only got one IH myself, and it's not in such great shape either.

Nice job on the cleaning...I had found an old coin a few years back and just put it in with all the other fins..Got to looking at it when I took my pictures and it had stars around it...Tried to clean it, but it was still in bad shape...ended up letting a guy at a jewelry store put it in his cleaning machine...1902 V nickel...still kinda rough, but you can see the date better...You did good on your cleaning method...Also the Indian head is on my list also...Buster.....

Just a head note for people that have never done it! If you hook up wrong, IE backwards positive on your prize ! It will go away. Keep a eye on it the fist few times you try it. Don't do it on any thing you remotely think is valuable.
