Goonies Never Say Die - Either Should You.
You've got a limited window and then it's gone for ever, change your approach to hunting the site maybe but don't stop hunting it until you are forced to.

Good Hunting,

BDA

Quite often, the best items are amongst the last to be found. I "hunted out" an old college years ago, and found lots and lots of silver coins and Indian heads. A friend of mine bought a Garrett GTA 1000(I think it was), and on his FIRST OUTING with it, he found a 5$ gold coin and a wheat penny at this same location, in a spot that I had gone over like a vacuum cleaner. This was back in April of '93. I CW relic hunt with this guy some now. He went to a CW encampment that had been hunted so hard that you could go 30 minutes without a signal. Found a horse shoe by an old stump, moved it and still had a good signal. Dug down about 8 inches and found a beautiful C.S. tongue and wreath buckle, still connected! He says the horse shoe "masking" the signal was the only reason nobody else dug it. This was found in rich, black soil, so it came out of the ground more black than green. Keep diggin'

Heck you went and found a Merc and 3 wheats on the site! To me that right there is reason to hit it again. Gotta keep trying. I found my only Merc at a old site that the house was gone, torn down. Found it right next to where the old side walk used to be. Oh yea hit it again, Beale,

Like Churchill said " Never Never Never give up." ( Unless they arrest you for trespassing on the new owner's lawn! ) .
