Default Home Security Systems

I have had a fire/burglar system in the home since '01(ADT). System has never given any problems, and we've paid faithfully for it. We haven't seen a technician since it was installed. Yesterday, I had a new sliding glass door installed from Home Depot. The old door had a sensor on it, and we needed to know how to remove it to put on the new door. I called the toll-free number for assistance. What a joke! After being told twice(wrong) about how to do it myself, I asked for the phone number of the closest rep. "We are not allowed to tell you" was the answer. O.K, I said-get the closest rep to call me, then. We cannot do that either. Then I was scolded for not having a technician here at the same time the door was installed. It took 6 weeks to get the door installed, so what would be my chances of having a second party like ADT here at the same time, one in a million?-I asked. Then, they asked if I wanted to schedule an appt. "Yes, I do". How much is this going to cost. "25.00 plus 85.00 for the first 30 minutes, then 25.00 for every 15 minutes after that". I guess it was their attitude that made me madder than anything. I got so aggravated that I had to hang up on them twice, the second time telling them what they could do. Now, the system won't arm itself. Thank God most metal detector service departments are great to deal with. Now, if I could just get my detectors to guard the home when I'm away

I have a Boston Terrier, but if someone shows up dressed as a biscuit, we're in trouble

Thanks, Buster. I'll keep you posted. I'm wondering now what ADT stands for. I'd say Another Damned Travesty!

Hey DF I looked into one of those once. After listening for a while I realized it was all about the $$ they could get? I mean who is the robber here?

Cancel the service. Tell them another company is gonna do it fo much less, with 2 years of free home repair if needed or some such BS. Maybe they will talk nice then, Beale.

Default I'm cancelling them!!

I spoke with them again. 200.00 for a simple visit(not counting re-installing the door sensor). This visit will only be to come and install (3) 3-volt batteries, which are about half the size of an AA battery. There is one battery per sensor. I DON'T THINK SO!! ADT
