SUMMER TRAVEL FEES

If you are planning to fly this summer please check your airline baggage fees.

They all have increased fees and decreased the amount of free baggage.

One suitcase and one carry on free on most all airlines.

Than 2nd suitcase prices are from $100.00 to $150.00 each piece one way.

Some airlines charge $200.00 for the 3rd and up to $400.00 for the rest.

Excess weight over 50 pounds starts at $50.00 each and can go as high as $200.00 plus for each bag.

Carry-on > 2nd piece is from $25.00 to $50.00 each

They add all excess items together. All fees are one way only

THESE CAN ADD UP TO HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS IN EXCESS FEES.

I'm taking a trip to Ind this summer but I'm driving, that way I can take as much as I want but thanks for the heads up!!!

It was a shock to see that not only they wre cutting the free baggage allotment but that they were making it impossible to afford a 2nd bag. I think it will backfire on them.

American Airlines just announced today they are charging $15 for the 1st checked bag.

I fly on average about 3 times per week - and have gotten fairly proficient at only taking what I absolutely need!

I was talking to a lady at an airport the other day, and she was insisting that the federal government take over the airline industry....I told her that if she thought things were crazy now - I could only imagine the nightmare if the feds ran the entire industry!! They haven't even been able to streamline the security screening process - and it's been nearly 7 years since 9/11!!
