Unhappy Mope'en Around

I don't know about you guys, but MD'en in the heat and humity that is offered in most of your south-eastern states can be brutal...Medically speaking I just can't do it...I guess it is research time for me...The cold doesn't bother me...30 - 60 degrees is wonderful. I met a guy that bought 80 ac. about a mile down the road...Took me 15 yrs. to meet him. He lives in Alabama and comes up here to get away from city life. I noticed him," as I have a 100 times in the past", working on his get away place and I decided to stop. Come to find out he is writing a book on metal detectors. He doesn't think they have changed much since 1970's!??! I don't know how much they have changed....might make a good thread?.. To make a long story short, he called me last week and wanted my wife and I to go to dinner tonight.....that's why I'm mopen around...I rather stay home and play Treasure Quest!....I hate I'm going to miss out on the hunt....You guys have ruined me... I'll never be the same. Anyway its too hot to hunt and I'm going to miss the hunt too.....

Look on the bright side Maybe you can get permission to hunt his 80 acres...even if hes hunted it before with an older MD you may find some overlooked treasures. And dont fret about the hunt we will still probably all be banging are heads when you get back Capt promised it be a real hard one tonight. G-girl

For sure early hunting is the answer. 06:00-09:30 is a good time to hunt.

Hey if you geta chance ask him about hunting his land. IMHO I do think he is wrong about detectors not changing, Beale.

Thats one of the Reasons I went more to water & beach detectin cuz of the Heat. Ya might appreciate that dinner more once ya see what I put everyone through tonight.
I have to agrre with Beale... I think he's wrong about detectors not changeing over the years but then everyone has there own way of lookin at it. See ya for the next Clue in the Hunt if the crew hasn't hung me from the Yard arm by then.

I don't deal well with the heat either, so I just go out and enjoy it when I can. I'm often going to bed about the time Buster and "E" are getting out to the beach so I'm not much of a morning hunter but maybe I will learn to be one. Or maybe I'll learn to work traditional hours.

hey, when it's too hot to hunt it's a good time to watch some treasure hunting shows.

Hope you enjoyed your dinner tonight and were able to finagle an invite to hunt the acreage.

Well it's 10:00 pm...dinner was great and so was the company... This guy thats writing this book is talking about metal detectors in general especially security detectors. He is retired from NASA...Writing another book on fossils....Seems to be smarter than the average bear...nice enough fellow. He did in fact invite me to his farm to MD....The old house was built in 1819....so alot of good did come out of the dinner...made a new friend and got a new place to hunt...I see Janice kicked everyones butt on the Treasure Hunt!!! Congrats out to her!!! Guess I'll try the early morn to MD...But after getting up early for 20 years of Army I'm not too motivated about it....lol
