You could always try the bank handling the foreclousure. I know as tempting as they may be to just hunt better of seeking permission. Good luck.

Good question. Most of the foreclosures in my area are by banks or other institutions that are either out of state or in some cases other countries. Many of the Country Wide properties were bought by Deutsch Bank in Germany. It's going to be a big pain to run down who owns what and then ask for permission, and is probably going to require some long distance calling as well.
The question is, is the hassle worth the reward? If it's a much older home, it might be. If it's a newer McMansion, it's doubtful. Without getting permission, I would certainly be leery of doing anything but maybe a front yard, lest an alert neighbor call the po-po about this guy who could be breaking in through a back door. If it's obvious all you are doing is poking around in the front yard it's probably safe enough. Then again, I haven't tried this, so proceed at your own risk. |

Hey Ric,
It's still someone's private property. I wouldn't go there without the owner/bank's permission (I would have it on paper as there is no one around to vouch for you being there). Hawk

I think your best bet would be to stray from those areas, and do a search on-line for proprieties that the City owns.... and detect on those....
I've been to a few when I was out in Pittsburgh for awhile.... Good Luck
