My local detecting club had a hunt last August here in Northern Virginia at a place George Washington used to frequent many times. It was an old tavern called West's Ordinary. Now it is a woman's front yard.

I found a 1773 Virginia Half Penny that I'd like to think belonged to Mr. Washington himself.

Yes, that is a fascinating story. I saw the TV footage. I'd really like to be there with one of the detectors..........
